Programs Overview

Dublin United offers a number of different playing opportunities for players of all different levels. Players are grouped by age categories (click here for the age group table for this year).

Dublin United provides two types of programs:

The House Program is intended for entry-level players and players that are interested in entry-level and/or recreational soccer. The House Program is divided into younger age groups ("Junior Shamrocks") and older age groups ("Recreational").

The Premier Program is intended for advanced level players.

The Premier program requires tryouts prior to team selection. At the tryout, players are evaluated in a group environment and selected to teams based on ability and need. Players not selected to a Premier team are placed in a player pool and allocated to House teams.

Premier teams incur expenses beyond those covered by the standard Dublin United registration fees. These teams typically use professional trainers and participate in fee-based tournaments throughout the year. In addition, Premier teams are required to purchase competitive team uniforms for use during the playing season.

Program Description

Premier

(Under-9 to Under-19)

The Premier program is the most competitive program offered by Dublin United. This program is for players with the highest level of commitment and ability.

Premier teams are formed on the basis of ability and commitment. The club places teams into local playing leagues including the following:

  • Golden State Soccer League (GSSL) which includes all of Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
  • NorCal Premier League which includes regional and statewide leagues.
  • Al Caffodio league which includes the Tri-Valley and Southern Contra Costa counties.

In addition, Premier teams typically participate in several Northern California tournaments per year and occasionally travel out of the area.

House -- Junior Shamrocks

(Under-5 to Under-8)

Junior Shamrocks is for younger players who are beginning their soccer experience. Junior Shamrock teams typically start in July and participate in programs through November.

House -- Recreational

(Under-9 to Under-19)

The Recreational program is for players that wish to participate in soccer in a recreational setting. Recreational teams typically start in July and participate in programs through November.

Recreational teams play in a house league consisting of teams from Dublin and sometimes neighboring clubs.
