AGM — plans for 2010
January 4th, 2010
Here are the slides that I presented at the 2010 AGM, describing the set of plans for the coming seasonal year. In some cases, we haven’t figured out the “how” yet, but these are the priorities that I will place in front of the Board:
- Address volunteer management head-on
- Reevaluate fees/hours
- Put in place tools, individuals to better manage volunteer requirements
- Reboot referee program
- Work with resources outside club to pull together a plan for referee development within Dublin United
- Develop next generation of club leadership
- Expand roles of committees
- Focus on documenting processes
- Improvements to uniform experience
- Review of 2009 with vendor
- Determine how to proceed with branding, logowear
- Enhance revenue streams
- Provide more/better programs at current registration fee levels
- Engage business community (E.g., Chamber of Commerce)
- Look for partnering opportunities
- With for-profit business
- With local non-profits (DUSD, KoC, etc)
- Stability and refinement
- Continuity at Board level
- Incremental improvements to Junior Shamrocks
- Format, roster size, training model, coaching
- Navigate through CYSA and US Club issues
- Focus on kids
- Improve responsiveness to questions/issues
- Premier program evolution
- Salary vs a la carte training/coaching
- Address fundraising gaps
- Reboot sportsmanship, fair play initiatives
- PCA, cost/benefit analysis
- Field utilization and expense plan
- DSG western half to close for renovation June 2010 to March 2011
- Will need to reconfigure/realign fields and programs based on available space
- FSP to open in July 2010
- Significant hourly field rental increase
- Temporary snack bar, facilities
- Will need to reassess status of field equipment
I think these priorities reflect the feedback from the surveys, observations from the Board, feedback that we’ve received through the year, and an agenda that is focused on the kids and the community.
Over the coming weeks, there will be a series of information updates from the club — through the club web site and this blog — describing the details of the plans.
