Become a Referee - General Information

Becoming a soccer referee is a great way to stay connected to the sport of soccer and provides a tremendous service to young people eager for a chance to compete. Referees are the gate keepers of the game, protecting the integrity of the games young people love to play. Referees help in the development and shaping of the next generation by demonstrating qualities like honesty, objectivity, consistency, conflict resolution, empathy and respect.

If you are interested in supporting your Dublin community, you can become a referee by attending and successfully completing a referee training course. U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) authorizes two entry-level referee certifications:

  • Recreational Referee Grade 9
  • Referee Grade 8 (entry level is most popular)

Visit the California North Referee Administration for more information on becoming a referee.

REFEREES

Dublin United Soccer League is proud to have the Dublin Referee Association (DRA) manage all of the referee programs for the DUSL.  We encourage all adults and youth 13 years of age, or older to participate in our referee programs by becoming licensed soccer officials.  The licensing process is easy and DUSL pays a competitive pay scale with other clubs in the Tri-Valley with games ranging from U9 to U19 in both our recreation and competitive programs.

Through California North Referee Administration (CNRA), you can become a referee by using this link, and follow the instructions on this page.

https://www.cnra.net/register/renew-referee/

We encourage all parents, youth and coaches to participate in the clinics.

License Renewal

We encourage all of our referees to renew your license between July 1st and December 31st of the current year for the next year. This will ensure you are able to continue to referee through the entire year without waiting for your renewal to be processed.  Please following this link to the renewal page.

Game Assignments

The DRA uses the Game Officials platform to assign league games.
