Names such as "Premier" and "Elite" feed into a false idea of two levels. US Soccer (especially here in the Tri-Valley) is notorious for over-branding their teams to be more appealing.
Our new methodology is focused on developing to allow players to grow to a collegiate and professional level, not to chase a "Premier" or "MLS status."
With that, we decided to adapt an Irish and European ideology, moving to a color system to keep the focus on growth instead of status.
Green, Black, & White teams are full-year. Grey is Fall only or Spring only.
Dublin United Soccer League's Competitive program is designed as our most challenging program and for players with the highest level of commitment and ability. Competitive teams are formed for players born U8 thru U19.
At Dublin United we believe that winning is a by product of hard work and our primary focus is on player development. We train our players using a fully integrated curriculum with tailored training cycles throughout the year. Each age group has specific developmental needs based on their physical and technical abilities. Our curriculum has integrated the science of kinesiology, motor learning and early childhood development into the sport of soccer. Our players train year to year building onto their technical and tactical foundation while they physically mature.
Competitive teams are formed on the basis of ability and commitment. The club places teams into local playing leagues under the NorCal Premier League which includes flights for every level of play in travel soccer. We place our teams into leagues that challenge them while developing.
In addition, if available, Competitive teams participate in several Northern California tournaments per year, with some travel out of the area. Competitive teams train more, participate in a longer season, and will have professional coaches for all ages.
