Dublin United Soccer League 2023/24 Financial Aid Program

Financial Aid Policy for 2023/2024 Season

Objective

Dublin United Soccer League Financial Aid Program is for financially disadvantaged youth players in our community. We provide interested and motivated youth, the opportunity to play soccer that fits their skill and ability. Financial Aid Awards can only be applied towards fees paid to Dublin United Soccer League for Recreational Registration Fees or Competitive Registration Fees. Once annual financial aid funding has been depleted, DUSL will not accept additional applications regardless of eligibility.

Privacy

Applications and financial documentation and information provided will be kept CONFIDENTIAL. For the privacy of our applicants, all documentation provided will be destroyed following the application review process.

Guidelines

  • Financial Aid Applications will be open based on available funds.

  • Financial need must be demonstrated for consideration. Economic hardship will be the only factor in awarding the financial aid. No one will be disqualified from consideration because of sex, race, color, creed, or religious beliefs.

  • While we try to address as much of the need as possible, financial aid amounts will be based on the number of players demonstrating need, the extent of that need and the budget available for aid that fiscal year.

  • Once budgeted annual financial aid funds are exhausted, no further applications will be accepted.

  • Financial aid will be reviewed on a yearly basis and applicants must reapply annually.

  • Repeat applicants must have fulfilled all financial aid volunteer requirements from the previous year to be eligible for financial aid in the current year.

    Criteria and Eligibility

  • Complete and submit the Application for Financial Aid.

  • Provide a copy of the first two pages of your two most recent tax returns for all family members. Current W-2 and/or 1099 if you haven’t filed current taxes.

  • Provide the last two pay stubs, proof of EDD or Disability, or Income Statement if self-employed for all family members.

  • Please include any additional documentation that will help demonstrate financial need.

  • Applicants must be in good standing with Dublin United Soccer league.

Additional Applicant Commitment

  • Financial aid recipients and/or their parents/legal guardians must provide 1 additional hour of volunteer time for every $50 of aid awarded to satisfy their Financial Aid Volunteer Hours. These hours are in addition to the general volunteer hours, and not eligible for volunteer fee reimbursements.

  • Financial Aid recipients must help volunteer at one, or both, of the two annual Dublin United Soccer Tournaments held in August and September of each year to help satisfy their Financial Aid Volunteer Hours.

  • After financial aid is awarded, the remaining balance of player registration and other applicable fees are to be paid in full by August 31 unless a payment schedule is in place.

Financial Aid Application Notes

  • Applicants must pay a minimum $150 volunteer deposit to be eligible for financial aid.

  • Uniform cost and other team fees (including travel and tournament expenses) are not included in financial aid.

  • Applications must be filled out and signed by the adult requesting the financial aid.

  • Applications for financial aid cannot be filled out by coaches, team managers, children or friends.

  • Applications that are not filled out completely will not be considered.
